Su zhongzheng, the prime minister, meets his son-in-law, the fugitive jingji, in his mansion. He is angry that his daughter has tricked him into saving her life by pretending to be her father. He wants to know which of the two fugitives he has his eyes on. He asks which one he likes the best. Su asks if they can have a wedding tomorrow. Su says that he will find a way for them to get married. He says that no one cares about the feelings of the female lead in the original novel, and that when the family collapsed he did not bother to look after them. He then asks if the fugitive is a reliable one. He was almost sold for prostitution in Chapter 5, and he is now a fugitive. Su tells him that this is a "once in a lifetime great chance" for him to marry her. He tells her that he was busy saving his life and reputation before he thought about love, but he never thought about it. He knows that the fugitive will not like her, but that he is different from the other fugitives because he has not yet gotten to know her true nature. He plans to trick him into marrying her so that he does not have to regret it.
