In the midst of his preparations for the performance of his play, Huck finds himself in the middle of a conversation with his sister, who is also in the audience. Huck tells his sister to hurry and thinks of something to do for her. He tells her that she is the second in line to perform, and he wants her to hurry up and get ready for the gala. He then tells her to ask her sister's guardian spirit, the chubby dumpling, to be her guardian spirit when the play is over. Huck then tells his father that he wants to rub the tears from his eyes when the performance ends, so that Huck will not have to transform back into his old self. Huck says that if they want to placate him, they can just do that, but they have to hide him somewhere no one can see. He says that he almost forgot that they must hide him, otherwise, Huck won't have to see him again. Huck asks his sister if she will leave the box where he is hiding, and she says that she will, but she has to stay in the box and pretend that she's a toy so that no one will see her. Huck wonders how intelligent Huck can be when he is six years old, and then he realizes that it is his sister who is hiding him. He asks her why it is that her makeup artist is looking for her, and when she tells him that she doesn't want to let him see her, he says that it's because he knows what she is talking about, and that he even covered her box with cloth. Huck is horrified that he did not use his luck to buy tickets to the gala, and now he is dead.
