The next morning, the young man wakes up and complains about his hangover. He's dressed up as his favorite character, and he's ready to play chess with Miss Su. Miss Su tells him to chill out and have some fun. The young man is so happy to have his "boss" back that he wants to go back to the brothel. He tells Miss Su that brothels are "merciful places" and that it's a good thing she's leaving because he'll lose his "soulmate" and no one will ever be able to talk to him again. He explains that he signed an "indenture" to be a prostitute and that he can only survive by selling his body and talents. He says that he doesn't have the skills to survive in the real world, so why not make a name for himself in the brothel? Miss Su says that she'll bring him back, but that she has a treasure that she can show him before she leaves.
