In this chapter, the fairy sister tells the prince that the Empress asked her to send him some ginger soup so that he would warm up after he fell into the river. The maid says that she prepared 2 bowls of soup and that she gulps the soup and burns the ginger talisman into ashes to get the demon to eat the soup. She says that if the prince protects the Empress, her plan will be ruined. She adds some poison to the ginger soup to kill the demon. The fairy sister asks the priest to perform the ritual to rid the demon of her. The priest says that he will do so after the prince shows his true form.
