In this chapter, Ren tells Ming-ting that he has passed the audition to be reborn as a performing artist. He tells her that he and zhong-shan tricked her into thinking that they were saving her from the demon race, and that she gave her primordial spirit to do so. She tells him that she appreciates that he saved her twice, but that she doesn't want him to sacrifice his life for Ren's sake. She asks him to promise not to hide from her, and they discuss the matter together.
