The monk and the monk's helper, the priest, are shocked to learn that the dumpling has been poisoned. The monk tries to calm them down, telling them that it's best to kill the demon now rather than later, when it'll be more likely to harm them later. He tells the monk to grab the dumpling and drag the priest to the guillotine. He also says that if the dumpling dies, all the imperial medicine halls will have to be destroyed.
