The next morning, Dr. Rivers is still in a daze. He asks his son to tell him what the beads are, and he says he doesn't want to talk about it right now. Rivers tells his son not to worry, because he's not going to kill anyone. He tells him to carry the beads and follow him. Rivers says that the mountains are a fertile place to cultivate a forest, and that the flow of the spiritual aura indicates the core of the aura should be in that forest. He says that he'll be able to focus on his cultivation without worrying about being discovered. Rivers then says that they're going to enter the city, and they could be seen. He reminds his son that he has to keep the guy alive, and warns him not to kill the girl and the man. Rivers calls for help, but the girl probably won't survive. Rivers warns the man that losing his legs isn't a good lesson for him, because it teaches him that he can lose his soul. Rivers asks if it's okay to tell the man what's going on.
