The soothsayer tells the kids that the black shadow they just saw is actually the shadow of the demon that killed secretary wang. The kids want to know what they can do about it, so they ask him to tell them what to do. He tells them that he's a "disbeliever of the divines" and that they need to trust him. He also tells them to carry this "black shadow" with them everywhere they go.
