Waking up in the middle of the night, Huck finds his sister, Lingzi, still unconscious and unable to communicate with him. Huck tells her to eat the earthworms, but she refuses to do so, saying that she will starve to death if she does not eat them. Huck then asks Lingzi if her mind is cleared, and she coughs with the medicine he has given her. Huck explains that when he broke Lingzi's bones for her, he thought he was dead, but the school of fish carried him to the shore, where he rested for a while before entering the sea again. After that, Huck was driven "crazy" by the "green light" from the walls of the oil terminal, and he was able to figure out how the light works. Huck says that it is a good thing that qiubing did not meet up with the walking corpses, because bing has already been bewitched and there are three others with him, including Professor Zhang. Huck thinks that it must have been hard on bing to realize that the person he is trying to save is a person like Lingzi.
