In the middle of his conversation with the doctor, Shmoop tells the doctor that he has a way to get out of the house, but the doctor has to promise him something. The doctor tells him to go see his daughter, who is still alive and waiting for him, and then he can leave the house. The mother of the dead girl runs off to find her daughter, and the doctor tells her that she is in a comatose state and that the only way to revive her is with external shock. The snow woman tells the mother that after she left the village, strange things began happening, including houses being covered in snow, livestock being frozen, and villagers running away from the village when they saw the dead woman. She says that the snow woman is the spirit of shuang, which means "the spirit of the wolf" .
