In this chapter, we learn that zhu has decided to die rather than go to the foggy island. He's afraid that the place is too dangerous for him to go inside, and he's also afraid that he'll find something there that scares the living daylights out of him. Unsure of what to do, zhu tells himself that he should go down to the island and wait for the ship to come back for him.
