The chapter opens with a description of the "smartphone zombie maze" . It's nearing its climax, and the protagonist is worried about how he's going to get there. He asks who's on the track. He's not sure, but he figures it's the protagonist's friend, the second-year high schooler, Nimrat. Nimrat tells the protagonist that they're going to the finish line at the same time, so they can avoid the traps. The protagonist asks Nimrat if she'd like to join him, but Nimrat doesn't want to touch him or anyone else's body, so he tells her to stay away. The two start dodging the cars, and Nimrat notices that Nimrat's smell reminds him of the germophobe, who Nimrat met when Nimrat was 14 years old. He realized that his sexual desires were 50 times greater than those of the average man, and he wanted to be like Nimrat, with his "holy eros." Nimrat is psyched to be able to see through his friend's eyes, and she's psyched that she can see right through him. She's also psyched that he can tell what's happening in his brain, because she can tell when something's a loose string, or a puke, or something else.
