In this chapter, we're introduced to a number of characters who have been introduced in the previous chapters. The first person we meet is Enobaruchi, who's hiding out in a greenhouse in the forest. He's got a knife in his hand, and he's trying to patch up a cut he made on his hand. He tells us that he cut his hand "pretty deep" with his knife, and that he can't take off the knife because it's so thick. He also tells us about a guy named Kirika, who sent out a search for friends and places before he died, but he never mentioned the word "find" in his message. We learn that Kirika's last words were "get your selves up" , and the guys are worried that they're going to get cornered. They're also worried that their girlfriend or boyfriend has been acting weird lately, and they don't want to worry about their location on their cell phones. They can use an app to keep track of their location, and Enogaruchi says that if you're worried about your location on your cell phone, you can just use the app to calm yourself down. The guys are all freaking out because the derps just ran right over a guardrail, and all of a sudden, they all started running back to their hiding places. They all start talking about how cool it is that they just ran over the guardrail, but they've got to figure out what's going on.
