About This Chapter
In the meantime, Portia's family and her father continue to plot against the Duke. Portia is now the queen of the kingdom of alheimo, which means that she can do whatever she wants with her husband's body. The Duke, however, is not going to let Portia do anything. He tells her that they have found out that the murderer belongs to a guild that is involved in spice trade, and that the master of the guild was once a subordinate of the family of Antonnia. Portia asks the Duke why he is sitting outside in the city, and the Duke replies that he does not want to enter the city because his master has caught a disease and needs to be taken to a doctor. Portia tells the Duke that her master has taken ill, and she begs the Duke to take him away from her.
