In the tea room, Su's father waits for him. Su tells his master that he has come to see his mother, and that his father does not respect him as a person. Su says that he will be his only partner, and he will burn the place down. Su scolds his master for having come with him, saying that there is no joy in the country, and his father was terrible. Su is so glad that his master is standing up for him that he wants to dance.
