In this chapter, the Governess tells her son that he is the most important person in her life. She tells him that he has been transformed into a black fox and that he should follow him. She also tells him not to drink the blood of the black fox because it will make his power suffer. The Governess also tells the boy that she is the only one who has not driven him away from his ladyship. She says that she must make sure that he does not forget who she is.
