The next morning, Huck wakes up to the sound of a fight breaking out in the distance. He's wearing a tie that his mom gave him, and he's worried about what's going to happen to him. He apologizes to his friend, but he can't get him away from the fight. Huck's still worried about his mom, because he thinks she's having an affair with someone outside of the family. He wonders if they're going to blame him for it, or if he'll be blamed for it himself. Finally, Huck realizes that he has to rely on his friend to keep him safe.
