In this short scene, Desdemona explains to her lover how he managed to escape. He tells her that he was able to escape because he had a "limited strength" . She realizes that he has never lied to her, and that he wants her to live with him forever. She is afraid that he will kill her if he does this time, but she does not want to believe him. She wishes that he could hide in a safe place, but he did not give up hope, and so she will wait for him to return.
