Back in the woods, Frankenstein tries to convince the monster that he's the one who needs to heal his wounds. He tells him that he was stabbed by a thorn and that the wounds are not deep, but that they're getting worse. He asks why the monster refused to help him, and the monster says that if it weren't for him, the monster wouldn't have been so badly wounded. He says that he wasn't trying to reject the monster, but he was a "drag on him" , and that's why he didn't help him.
