In this chapter, the monster explains that he has lost all of his "life force" . He tells us that he once had a giant, black dog who would lick him. The dog looked fierce, and no one dared touch him. He says that he kicked the "stards" this time, and that they will no longer gossip about his mom's back. The monster says he knows it hurts, but he doesn't want to do anything like that again. He's sorry that he did it, and he's heartbroken that he didn't do it better. He can't imagine what he would have done if he hadn't been in the dream. He feels guilty that he would do such a thing, but it was a dream, he says, and it's not like he can imagine what would have happened if he had actually done it. He asks the monster to stop rubbing against him, and the monster says that the monster is torturing both of them. He reminds the monster that they're torturing each other on purpose, and says that if he were in the monster's body, he wouldn't be able to do what the monster wants him to do.
