About This Chapter
This chapter's epigraph is from the opening lines of the novel, "The Magic Flute," by Charles Dickens. In this chapter, the voice of the protagonist is interrupted by the sound of gunfire. The protagonist is in his dou chamber, which is being repaired. He realizes that the dou and yuan chambers have been hit by lightning. He tells the protagonist that he is in the sacred realm, and that he can use his illusion to test his strength. He says that if he were in the real world, he would either blow himself up or destroy himself. But now, he says, he has entered the memory space, and he is using his power to test the strength of his own memory. He asks the protagonist why he didn't create stronger hades, and the protagonist says that he wants to leave the illusion and run away. He claims that it was the protagonist who stopped him from doing so. But the protagonist points out that it is impossible for anyone to stop him from using his illusion, even if they are very fast. He also says that the protagonist's body will get hurt as long as he returns to reality. This chapter ends with the protagonist saying that the priest of the Magic Guild has arrived at the barracks. The priest is a member of the guild, so he is able to use his magic to get into the magic array without damaging it. He thanks the protagonist for his help
