This chapter opens with a flashback to the beginning of the previous chapter, in which we learn that the "bam" is a powerful healer. The bam is so powerful that he is able to heal a wounded man. He is so strong that he can touch the wounded man, even though he is lame and weak. He tells the bam to go ahead and heal the man, and the two of them rush off to help each other.
