The chapter opens with a flashback to the battle of the night souls three years earlier. In the battle, the King of Night Souls was defeated and killed, but he was unable to summon the Night Soul Scythe because night souls were too weak. The patriarch of night-souls forced him to marry his brother, who was killed defending him. The chapter ends with a soliloquy by the fairy cat, in which she says that the poison that poisoned her was sent by "blissful fengdu organization."
