This is the first time we get a sense of what's going down between the two guys. They're both trying to figure out what the heck is going on. The guy who's trying to take the frog asks why they didn't just give him the blue jar at the beginning of the game. He wants to know why they haven't given him the swamp frog yet. He's also worried that they're going to lose the bet with the guy who won't give them the frog if they don't beat the guy. They can't have the frog by force, he says, because they've got to make a fair bet with him. He also says that if they give up on the bet, they'll have a bad record of incompetence.
