About This Chapter
In the middle of his morning meeting, the Governess is in a trance. She wants to go out for a walk and build a grave outside the city for her late husband. The Governess wants to know why no one else has come to visit the grave of her dead husband. She asks why they don't just visit his grave, too. She also asks if they're his friends, too, and asks if she seems to be from the outside world. She's sure she knows what she's talking about, but she doesn't want to take it too seriously. She tells him to be careful, because there may be "consequences" if he stays in the city. He tells her not to worry, because he's been through a lot. He says he'll be back soon, and she says, "I'm back" . She says they should just call the police, because the baby and her husband are lying at a crossroads, and the baby is probably sick. She screams, and they rush off to find her husband and son.
