The next morning, Linyuan's grandma tells him that many people were involved in the murder of the empress, including three influential families. Linyuan is told that he still has a chance to tell his side of the story, and that the emperor has sent for the Empress to come face-to-face with her. The Empress forced Linyuan to marry a man who had an affair with the Empress, and Linyuan was forced to do the same with another man.
