A few months later, Cleopatra's maid enters the palace and tells the Queen that she is in labor. The midwife has gone to deliver the baby, but the doctor has advised that the baby should be too big for its mother to labor comfortably. The Queen is horrified at the news and demands to know why the Duchess has not delivered the baby. She tells the Duchess to shut up and says that she will have her tongue ripped out.
