The next morning, Mingyu comes to say farewell to the king. He tells Mingyu that he is leaving to go back to Zhejiang to run the kingdom. Mingyu tells him that he has heard that some officials are urging the king to marry more of his concubines. He warns Mingyu not to let the king marry someone she doesn't know. He says that he will still believe the king even when he is older. He also says that Mingyu has come to say good-bye to him, and that having him back is the "greatest joy" of his life.
