Alek is furious that the Germans are trying to take over his father's country. He thinks they're going to kill him if they do, but Alek says he's not going to do it. He says that his mom carved the sword on her chest to remind him to run away from the Germans. Alek says the Germans have a secret drug that's going to cause dementia in his father, and they need to destroy the place where it's being kept. He's worried that his family is going to run off with the money, and he wants to warn them not to do so. He tells his mom to get out of the way, and then he'll run away. He doesn't want to find proof that his parents are guilty of anything, so he just wants to go home.
