The scene opens with a groan from Linyuan, who has lost his mind. He tells us that the emperor left a treasure map for the future generations, but that the map was stolen by other emperors. Linyuan then tells us how he got the map from the emperor, but was attacked by some mysterious person. The emperor then asked the greatest man in the history of the mechanism to make the map, and he preserved the part of it in the bed of the palace to guard it. The scene ends with Linyuan saying that he would be the victor today if the emperor had not allied himself with the prince. He says that he has absorbed too much energy, and his meridians are beginning to cough. He then says that the qi is beginning to hold his hand, and that if he were to push away, he would not be able to break through the palace gate. He also says that even if he could survive today, it would be like a wreck, because he would have no martial skills left.
