The next morning, Bihua wakes up to find that the Empress is still in the hospital. He tells himself that he can't give her to the Empress because she'll become a terrible force for the new emperor. He's also worried that if he puts the needle in her skin and wakes her up forcibly, the devil will be stimulated in her body, which means the Emperor will be able to use her as a tool to kill him. Bihua then goes to the temple where he's been staying and finds out that the temple has caught fire and that Linyuan has come to rescue him. He also realizes that he'll have to go back to the city to find out what's going on.
