The narrator asks what's going on with the guy. He's worried that he's falling in love with someone else, and he wants to know what you're trying to figure out. If you were him, he'd tell him what you want, and it would be wonderful. But if you were you, he says, he would tell you what you really wanted, and then he would try to figure it out for you. He tells you to try your best, even if it's painful, because that's the only way you'll be able to find out if he really loves you. The narrator tells us that she'll try her best to know if he loves her, and if he doesn't love her, she should try to find someone else who loves her.
