He doesn't know why he wants to marry a man, but he does want to be normal before his mom tells him otherwise. He wants to be a good person, not a bad person. He asks the guy if he'd like to do it once. The guy says he'll do it. The narrator apologizes for being a jerk, but she's not. She wants to make sure that the guy is safe.
