In the second half of the chapter, we find out that Hayato is still in control of the fight. He's got a good chance of winning, but he's also got a serious eye injury. Hayato's eyes are red and swollen, and he can barely see. The doctor comes in to check on him, and Hayato says that his eye's fine, but the lid of his eye is swollen shut, and it's not clear whether or not he'll be able to see again. He tells the doctor that he still wants to win the match, but that he needs to get Hayato to trade blows with him in order to do so. He says that he has to step in with one two punches, and that's how he plans to do it.
