In this chapter, the narrator tells us that he made it to the finals of an amateur kickboxing tournament. He thanks his gym buddy, Michi, for saving his life. Michi tells him that the tournament was a mixed martial arts tournament, which meant that the fighters had to fight in two-minute rounds. The first round featured Michi throwing a barrage of kicks at her opponent. The second round saw Michi use a clinch to keep Michi at bay. She won the first round with a kick to the body. The third round was a clinch and Michi won the second round with an inside kick.
