In this chapter, the monster explains how he plans to defeat the remaining magmellians. He tells his mother that he's not as strong as he was a year ago, and that she shouldn't let her son go off to war. He also tells her that they've already killed the monster, and now they're going to have to find a way to get out of the forest. He explains that the forest is dense with durasteel, which makes it very difficult for the monster to survive. The forest is also very fast, and the monster can be tamed very easily. The only problem, he says, is that some of the other members of the team have consumed magmell's gifts to strengthen themselves, and he doesn't know what to do with them.
