About This Chapter
It's the end of the first half of the second half, and we're introduced to the narrator, who's just about ready to give up on sex life. He's been hanging out with Tilden, and he tells us that Tilden's sleeping with a client. The narrator doesn't want Tilden to think that he's trying to cheat on him, but he does want to make sure Tilden isn't interfering in his plans to have sex with a young woman. He also tells us about how Tilden got him an interview the other day, and the narrator is psyched. He wants to use the interview to make a big show out of it, so he decides to make his last show about a woman who would make a nice ex for his show. He shows us a picture of a duck breast fillet, which he thinks would be a nice dinner for a young lady. He says he'll whisper to Tilden about it, and then they'll go out for a drink. Tilden says he knows the owner of the bar where they're going, and that's where he got the interview. He tells the narrator that he thinks Tilden wants to talk about his sex life with the woman, but the narrator doesn1t know what to make of it. He wonders if Tilden is just trying to get her to say something about his feelings for her, or if he wants to make it seem like Tilden and the woman are in love. He thinks it might be a good idea, since Tilden
