About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that when he was young, he wanted to kill Gao ji, but his father didn't want him to be killed because his family's bloodline was so noble. Everyone tried to kill him, but the current Emperor's mother, the current King's father, and the current Empress' mother all refused to help. Finally, the eldest child, who is the son of the current emperor, decides to go back to his homeland and take care of the eldest son. He tells the narrator that he'll go back with the son in a couple of days. The narrator is so grateful that someone has surrendered to the authorities that he killed a servant of the Li family. The emperor pardons him, and he's free to go home tomorrow. He's so grateful, in fact, that the narrator decides to call his brother "big brother" . He promises to make his brother a dinner that evening. He also promises to wash the vegetables for him. He wants to know how his brother has been doing, but he can only remember his name.
