The narrator congratulates Akari on passing the entrance exam to the gondola association. He tells her that she is now one of the company's "fully-fledged undines" . Akari says that he has been waiting for this day for so long that he feels like he should not pay attention to the fact that he is now "a full -fledged undine." He tells Akari that there is something important he needs to tell her. He says that they both snuck out of the office without telling anyone, and that they heard the news that Miss alicia is going to be getting married. He asks if she is okay with this, and she says that it would be impossible for her to continue her work at the gondola company while she is married. The narrator says that she cant believe she is retiring, because she has always been her fan. She tells him that she has been thanking some of her regular customers for her bouquet, and they must not have wanted her to retire. She says that her customers look up to her as one of three water fairies. She explains that she had to pass the exam to get a job at the company, and it was all her "selfishness" that kept her from taking the time to spend more time with her.
