About This Chapter
The girls are on their way home from a game of cards when they run into "orange planet" , a character from the Disney Channel's animated show Beauty and the Beast. The girls talk about how much fun it is to play cards with other kids, and how they're going to have a sleepover later that night. Aika is worried that she's not going to be able to climb on the bed, and the girls tease her about not paying attention to her. They're interrupted by the arrival of "miss athena," a friend of Aika's, who's been hanging out with some other girls. When the girls realize that they've run into Aika and Miss Athena, they realize that it's time to get back to the game. They decide to go to bed early, and Aika teases her about being late. She's worried that Aika will be jealous of her because she has friends who are older than her, and that she won't have the opportunity to hang out with them. Akari, however, has friends of her own age, and she doesn't need to worry about her friends' jealous glances. A little later, Aika tells the girls that she and Akari are having a sleepover, and they'll be back in the room by the time they get there. A lot of the girls agree with Akari's assessment of the other girls' behavior, but they don't agree with her assessment of their own behavior. They all agree that the girls shouldn't be hanging out together, because it'll make them feel bad about their lack of friends. They also agree that Akari and her friends aren't really friends, because they hate each other. They agree that they should hang out alone, but Aika points out that they can't force themselves to do so, because Akari is always happy and smiling
