She wakes up in the middle of the night to find that the doctor has woken her up. He's dressed in armor and a bullet-proof vest, and he's about to be executed. Alita tells him that the firing squad is the way to go because it can kill people who are "heavy armored cyborgs" . The bullet is 12.7 mm long, and it's loaded with 800 milliliters of gunpowder, which is enough to "grind" a block of block-headed metal into its noggin. She tells him to "wait" for his "unavoidable death" while he repents for his sins. He tells her to "dash glom silence" like a "assembly line" , because once they're dragged away, "it's over." He then tells her not to worry about saving him, because he'll be the next one to die, after this "demented dimwit." He says that he doesn't have the power to decide who's guilty, but he can just do what he thinks is right. He then says that they'll all be executed the next day, and that he'd rather die than risk his own life to save someone else. He asks her to go down to the market place and buy him some new clothes. She says that she guessed the size of his shoes from his sandals, so she'll have a pair for
