The narrator tells us that this is the closest thing to Earth that we've ever seen. It's a dead, lifeless place. The only thing that's left of it is a bunch of weird little machines that are supposed to make life on the surface of the planet more interesting. They're called "nano-machines" and they're supposed to be able to do things like "swarm" and "blast" and stuff like that. We're not sure what this stuff is supposed to do, but we're guessing that it's not going to do anything interesting. The narrator then tells us about a guy named Zekka, who's been experimenting with a new kind of martial art called "embodied martial karate" . He's super stoked to be alive, and he's also super stoked about the fact that Zekka's got a beer bottle in his hand. He wants to know what's going on with this karate thing. Zekka says that he once studied how to make a super-fast punch without a "shock wave" , which is basically a fancy way of saying that the punch doesn't have to be super-hot. He also says that when he was a kid, he used to study how to punch a guy in the air without a big, nasty shock wave . So, he says, if you're going to be a rival to the guy who invented the martial art, you've got to prove that you can do it. The guy with the beer bottle wants to see Zekka prove that he can do this, too.
