The chapter opens with a conversation between alita and Corin. Corin tells Corin that he's glad to see her, because she's been mean to him lately. He also tells her that she looks a lot like lou, which makes Corin think that Corin is being mean to her, too. He says that he used to be in Corin's body when he was younger, and that he thinks that it's a good thing Corin doesn't act so chummy with Corin now that they're in the same body. He's also worried about the possibility of an incest between Corin and alita, since Corin has secured a lot of factory systems, which means that he can't have sex with anyone else. If Corin had sex with a woman who's not his wife, he thinks, he'd have an even bigger problem with the population explosion that might result from an increase in the number of women in the world. He warns Corin not to act too chummy, since it might lead to an explosion in the population of women, which would then lead to a huge population explosion. He adds that the body of Corin was repaired, but the brain chip was left inside , so Corin isn't sure if it was an inter-face or not. He wonders how it would benefit Corin if he brought back Corin, since the body is already broken down, and the genetic makeup of the person is already gone. He asks Corin what he could do if he could make a "clone" of his friend , and he says that it wouldn't be worth it since the chip is gone.
