About This Chapter
The chapter opens with a soliloquy by the Lord of the Rings: The Return of the Jedi, in which the protagonist laments the loss of his beloved wife. He vows to take revenge on anyone who insults his wife, and he curses the "bitch" who chose to kill him and his family. He also vows to kill all the people who saved his life, including the ones who helped him escape from the dungeon. He curses "the sins of man" and the "dark history" of humankind. He swears that he will never "break my spirit" by force, but he does promise to spare the lives of John and Colin.
