In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character, Shmoop, who has just returned from a battle in which he defeated two Panzer-Kunglers. He is very excited to be back on the battlefield, but he is also a little worried that he will not be able to perform his feats of combat successfully. He worries that the oscillating waves in the room will destroy the bed, and he wonders how he can do this. He feels as though he has been separated from his friends and family, but that is not true, he says.
