About This Chapter
In the middle of the night, Jim hears that the M.I.B. has sent an "envoy" to the children's camp to make peace. He's glad that he's there, because he wants to see his mom, who's been in hiding for a year. Jim's worried that his mom and dad have died, but he doesn't need to mourn because they were "never human," he says. He says that he spent a lot of time building a giant tower out of the blocks when he was a kid. When he was young, he felt "liberated" , and now, he feels "depressed" . He tells Jim that there's only one way to feel sad, and that's to stop living.
