In this chapter, we learn that alita and her sister are now living in the scrapyard, and that they're going to have to move to a safer place because of the altitude sickness they've both suffered. They've just met, and alita looks a lot different than she did when we last saw her in the lab three days ago. She's got a new brain, and she's also got a chip in her head, which means that she'll be able to communicate with the rest of the world. Jim says that he's glad to see alita, because he never thought he'd join her. He also tells her that the whole world has been watching her since the news of her new brain came out. He says that there are still lots of killer robots roaming around, but that they need to get rid of them and make the city less human-like. He tells them that they can't be human if they don't understand each other.
