About This Chapter
As the battle rages on, the captain tries to get his troops out of harm's way. He's wounded, but he doesn't want to go back to the front because he's sure his wound will heal if he just leaves it there. He tells the captain to come over to his tent and get some sun, because the patients are piling up in the tent. The captain says that the patients aren't leaving the tent, but are staying there because they need medical attention. He says that his wound is so bad that he could have gone to battle if he hadn't had it. He also says that if it weren't for his wound, he would have joined the battle and fought the guerrillas out there, putting his own life on the line. He asks the captain why he needs to worry about himself when he can just go home and have sex.
