About This Chapter
The doctor explains that he has an urgent patient needing surgery. The bleeding is bad, so he'll just take care of it. He tells the patient that he's been hit by a bomb and that the man tried to throw the bomb with his hand. The doctor says that most doctors who volunteer to help in the war don't survive because they have to patch up dying people and throw them out again. He curses the doctor and says that he won't let him do anything. He'll burn everything around him without leaving a trace. He says that even if the doctor tries to protect the patient, he'd be miserable and alone if he tried. He promises to make sure that the doctor is the only one left standing in the wreckage of the war. He doesn't want to die in the hands of the doctor, he says. They'll prepare for surgery, the doctor says. He asks the soldier if he wants to send him home that much. The soldier says that she'd rather send him back to the front lines than stay in the tent with him for a long time. He warns her that if she takes part in the battle carelessly, she might not be able to walk for the rest of her life. He also warns her about the fact that there are already a lot of wounded soldiers, so she needs to get some sleep
