About This Chapter
It's too bad the weather's bad to see what's going on, because the reptilians and the mammalians are planning an ambush. The only reason they're able to do this is because they've figured out how to use their special abilities to their advantage. They're not going to let the weather get in the way of their fight. They just need to get behind the enemy's cover and fight. That's the only way they'll be able to win, says the narrator. He sees a white figure standing out in the smoke, and he wonders if he's actually on the battlefield. The narrator's thoughts stay with him for a long time after he saved the woman, and the narrator wonders if she's just trying to make fun of him for saving her.
